Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift (SAA)

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains plant machinery and equipment such as generators, ovens, A/C units, compressors, and pumps
  • Repairs or replaces control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc., as needed
  • Repairs and maintains mobile equipment
  • Performs work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments
  • Handles and moves hazardous materials including waste blasting media, paint, and petroleum-based products, which may include wearing provided safety equipment such as protective gloves, safety glasses or face shields, aprons, and a respirator as required
  • Sets up and operates welders, drill presses, grinders, hand tools, and other metal working equipment
  • Fabricates and modifies new and existing equipment as needed
  • Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
  • Develops, prepares, and presents recommendations and reports as requested
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by maintaining a safety-first mindset
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate a plus
  • At least five years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair
  • HVAC and Electrical License
  • Able to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports
  • Good mathematical skills, including basic algebra, to calculate electrical/electronic equations as needed
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software; ability to learn maintenance software for data input and parts research highly preferred
  • Ability to work overtime and alternate shifts based on customer needs
  • Hazardous Waste License preferred
  • Must be willing to abide by the company’s Zero Incident philosophy
