Responsibilities
- Review work orders to prepare for tasks, ensuring readiness with tools, equipment, time, manpower, parts, and supplies.
- Create work orders in SAP and respond quickly to emergency calls with the right tools and equipment.
- Monitor machinery during operation to detect malfunctions early and ensure production remains on track.
- Disassemble and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, replace faulty parts, and test for proper functionality.
- Fabricate replacement parts using welding, cutting, and sheet metal work to ensure repairs are accurate and effective.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems, including pumps, packaging, slicing equipment, and more.
- Install and maintain essential systems, such as mechanical equipment, piping, and electrical controls, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Stay updated with small hand tools and devices used in general mechanical maintenance, ready to handle a wide range of tasks.
- Achieve optimal performance and minimize downtime by adhering to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Follow company safety protocols, including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures, and maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performance environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment.
- Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma, or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school (preferred).
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
- Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
- Read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals.
