Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

About the Role

This position maintains all equipment and facilities, performs preventative maintenance checks and procedures, and assists with setups and changeovers.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Multimatic New Haven safety practices, policies, and procedures
  • Perform machine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Conduct machine installation and setup procedures
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed
  • Execute preventative maintenance (PM) procedures on all manufacturing equipment
  • Complete facility-related repairs and project work as assigned
  • Document all maintenance activities, including daily log sheets for TPMs, Control Plans, and Downtime logs
  • Coordinate with supervisors/managers for time, material, and equipment required to perform work
  • Operate with minimal supervision and maintain all necessary hand tools

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • 1–3 years’ experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and welding
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions)
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to work without close supervision

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to handle tools or controls
  • Required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must rotate torso and view behind to operate equipment
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
  • May perform repetitive work tasks
  • Flexibility to work various shift hours, extended hours, or off-hours in emergencies

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to moving parts, electromagnetic fields, electric shock risk, and vibration
  • Occasional work in high or precarious places
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise
  • Subject to temperature extremes for extended periods
