About the Role

Ensure overall Sterling facility equipment, production lines, and tools are properly maintained, repaired, or replaced according to HPS quality systems, applicable codes, standards, and regulations. The goal is to maximize plant efficiency, ensure on-time shipments, and provide safe and clean working conditions for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Develop detailed equipment preventive and scheduled maintenance lists for all plant equipment.
    • Perform regularly scheduled and routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
    • Maintain maintenance department tools, equipment, and supplies to meet all maintenance needs.
    • Work closely with Manufacturing Process Specialists to maintain, review, and upgrade production hand tools.
    • Coordinate and/or perform equipment and tool calibrations as required or recommended.
  • Equipment Repair and/or Replacement
    • Perform all required electrical or mechanical equipment repairs as determined by preventative, routine, or scheduled maintenance.
    • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in production equipment and facility infrastructure.
    • Submit MRO requests for parts or services based on maintenance findings.
    • If equipment replacement is necessary, submit detailed reports to key leaders for review, including equipment issues, reasons, and requirements.
    • Replace broken, unfit, or unrepairable manufacturing equipment within approved budgets and timelines.
    • Provide assistance to Training Coordinator, Manufacturing Process Specialists, and production staff on newly installed manufacturing electrical equipment.
  • Plant/Grounds Maintenance
    • Perform general or major repairs to building installations, including electrical, heating/AC, and plumbing.
  • Continuous Improvement/Cost Reduction Projects
    • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and outside suppliers to research, recommend, and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction projects (e.g., Preventative/Predictive Maintenance, Utilities, Maintenance Inventory, critical suppliers, Health and Safety).
    • Assist with major installations, set-up, and repair of machines or electrical equipment, including transformers, distribution panels, and other devices.
    • Assist Manufacturing Process Specialists and QA test departments in maintaining, calibrating, and upgrading production test equipment.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Work with corporate manufacturing engineering to draft and issue equipment PSRs (Product Support Requests).
    • Complete requisitions for parts or supplies on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
    • Review and maintain the monthly company maintenance budget.
    • Create drawings for filing storage and apply design guidelines in SPI and other engineering documents to ensure minimal cost.
    • Implement changes through the HCN process in a timely manner, when applicable.
    • Review and approve test reports, as required.
    • Request special tests to meet additional customer specifications, if needed.
    • Review field issues for resolution, as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Prefer certification or some college in maintenance or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance roles.
  • 5+ years in an electrical maintenance position in a manufacturing/plant environment.
  • Lock-out/Tag-out, PLCs, forklift, and hoist training & certificates.
  • Interpersonal skills training, including HPR (High Performance Relationships).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Preventative Maintenance Software.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and printers.
  • Experience with soldering, forklifts, hoists, and various maintenance electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge in the use of calculators, rulers, tape measures, and scales.

Pay

Competitive hourly range: $24/hr to $34/hr.
