About the role

The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, including gear and sprocket drives, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, loading systems, and production machines.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine facility maintenance as assigned
  • Conducts Preventative Maintenance regularly
  • Troubleshoots PLC systems and mechanical devices in operation by adjusting functional parts, control instruments, and repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Optimizes capabilities of various packing (bagging) machines
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices
  • Assists in equipment startup to ensure correct operation
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
  • Maintains a strong mechanical aptitude to resolve issues and foster Continuous Improvement
  • Keeps maintenance shop and parts/tool/belt storage areas clean and organized
  • Completes all required paperwork promptly and accurately
  • Ensures food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality standards are maintained
  • Reports risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to a designated manager
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a manufacturing facility
  • Proven ability to meet customer and management deadlines
  • Highly organized, self-starter capable of working with little direct supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing
  • Ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve outstanding results

Pay

Target pay rate is $30/hour, based on experience. Shift differentials: $1.00/hr for 2nd shift, $1.50/hr for 3rd shift.

Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Flexibility required to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs
