About the Role
The Maintenance Technician assists in the maintenance of facilities, powered industrial equipment, and stationary equipment, collaborating with Production to ensure operational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as controls, proximity sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
- Repair and maintain high-pressure pasteurization equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as hydronic and hydraulic seals, high-pressure components, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment, including conveyors, water heaters, HVAC, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans, and powered industrial equipment.
- Adhere to the facility’s Document Control Policy following completion of training.
- Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality for an hourly role.
- Handle minor tasks related to the duties of the position.
- On-call availability as needed.
- Provide report information to the leadership team.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing.
- Flexibility with work schedule and job duties in response to changing location environments.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (speak, read, and write).
- Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and perform responsibilities accurately and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Welding experience.
Working Conditions
- Work within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production facility.
- Must be able to withstand cold temperatures.
- Considerable physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds; physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions.
- Potential exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- May require working with allergenic food ingredients as referenced by the FDA.
