About the role

This is an hourly position in Manteno, IL that reports to the Maintenance Manager. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of all manufacturing, facility, and support equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on all production and supporting equipment. Must communicate and interact with maintenance, production, and quality department personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and support and repair of all production equipment and supporting equipment (e.g., air compressor, coolers, turbine, and material storage tanks).
  • Determine materials, parts, and equipment to be used for repair, installation, and stock.
  • Coordinate and participate in scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on all production and supporting equipment.
  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain the mechanical, electrical, and other related systems in all production and supporting departments.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain heating, cooling, ventilation systems, and water treatment devices for the entire plant.
  • Coordinate with the supervisor scheduled and unscheduled work on the mechanical, electrical, and other related systems throughout the entire plant.
  • Complete all necessary documentation as described under company guidelines.
  • Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner, as assigned per shift.
  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other related systems of all production and supporting department equipment in a safe and secure manner.
  • Meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Read and understand complex written and oral instructions.
  • Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics.
  • Program temperature controllers, Honeywell controllers, AC inverters, and DC controllers.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to fabricate and sanitary weld.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Flexible in daily schedule and willing to work overtime, including during emergency situations.
  • Good driving record.
  • Verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with multiple departments within the organization.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of general manufacturing environment and practices.

Pay

$30 - $35.25 per hour
