About the role
The Maintenance Level 2 at The Wine Group is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including facility and grounds. This includes advanced welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as refrigeration and PLC systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of plant equipment
- Advanced welding and fabrication
- Teach new equipment and technical skills to new employees
- Troubleshoot and repair/replace damaged or defective parts/equipment
- Complete maintenance paperwork correctly
- Interact and communicate effectively with co-workers and management
- Work with Process Safety Management, HACCP, and Plant Safety Teams
- Perform work safely, including sanitation and confined space entry
- Operate and maintain refrigeration systems
- Manage water and wastewater systems
- Participate in reliability and root cause analysis
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 5+ years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent role
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems, motors, and pumps
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including schematic reading, wiring, and troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems
- Valid forklift, aerial lift, and scissor lift certifications
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
Qualifications
- Ability to perform all Maintenance Level 1 skills
- Comprehend and carry out written and verbal work orders and instructions
- Basic math skills
- Advanced welding skills
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems, motors, and pumps
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and ammonia systems
- Possess basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Pass and maintain valid forklift, aerial lift, and scissor lift certifications
- Pass drug screen

Physical Demands
- Able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs at varying frequency and duration
- Able to repeatedly climb stairs and vertical tank ladders at heights of 40’ and higher
- Able to work at various heights 40 feet or higher, as well as in confined spaces
- Able to bend, lift, climb, pull, and push
