Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment on schedule to ensure all machines are functioning safely and efficiently.
- Identify, recommend and implement modifications to create improved efficiency and effectiveness.
- Test, repair and operate equipment and tools safely.
- Understand and use lock out/tag out procedures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems with optical lab equipment and system failures.
- Rebuild existing equipment and subassemblies as needed to meet production goals.
- Install minor functional and structural parts on the equipment.
- Install new lab equipment and train operators on mechanical functions and maintenance requirements.
- Attend training to maintain and expand knowledge of existing and new equipment.
- Initiate purchase orders for tools, equipment and replacement parts to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Absorb and utilize computer maintenance software system to track and submit work orders, document completed work and record projects.
- Effectively communicate with vendors, supervisors and employees, on all shifts, providing constant feedback, troubleshooting and training as needed.
- Help with reengineering of the lab and infrastructure projects to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness to meet goals.
- Continually reviews and improves processes to simplify jobs, eliminate non-value-added tasks and reduce costs.
- Work with Director of Operations on special projects, as needed, to meet divisional objectives.
- Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and organized condition.
- Understand and follow all company and manufacturer’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance of all attendance & safety rules and regulations.
- Work safely and promote a safe work environment.
- Recognizing, reporting and fixing unsafe working conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and HIPAA protected information.
- Willingly assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain an even workload.
- Cooperate with other coworkers and demonstrate a good attitude.
- Perform an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time as required.
- Provide proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers.
- Attend in-house or sponsored training meetings when necessary.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent and related specialized mechanical/related training.
- 5 years of experience including mechanical and/or maintenance emphasis.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and complete work thoroughly.
- Computer skills to order and maintain parts inventory and work tickets.
- Ability to lift and/or move over 60 pounds and ability to use engineering tools to move equipment greater in weight (pallet jacks, etc.).
Pay Range
$24.00 - $26.00
