About the role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team. This role involves repairing and maintaining various equipment and systems to ensure their optimal functioning. Routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs are key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the safe and efficient maintenance of the resort through effective supervision of maintenance staff
- Aids in solving complex maintenance problems, capable of rapid decision-making
- Aids in the implementation of maintenance plans with considerations of budgetary constraints
- Supervises the overall activities of the maintenance staff as required
- Trains and mentors development of staff
- Fulfills follow-up on maintenance technician jobs to ensure the quality of work
- Schedules and performs routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
- Completes work orders and daily projects reported by the front desk and otherwise assigned during shift
- Affixes and assigns duties to all employees
- Performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of resort buildings and units, including carpentry, plumbing, filter maintenance, and light fixture maintenance
- Maintains swimming pool
- Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems
- Coordinates or installs, operates and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Requirements
The ideal candidate has a strong background in maintenance work, possesses excellent problem-solving skills, and is committed to ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Clear driving record without significant violations
- Preferred degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in Facility Management
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in building and facilities maintenance
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
- Hazardous material handling training within six (6) months of hire date
- One (1) year experience in the care, maintenance, and repair of large, commercial, or public swimming pools and associated equipment and facilities
