Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)

Job Overview

PlanetArt is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the company's Maintenance department. The successful candidate will maintain and repair all facility equipment in the production area. Extended hours include scheduled 10- and 12-hour days as well as scheduled weekend hours during all peak periods. May be required to transfer to 2nd shift during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all facility equipment in the production area.
• Extend responsibilities to include exterior maintenance of the facility.
• Support production equipment including Laser engravers, embroidery machines, ovens, presses, digital printers, conveyors, facilities, building maintenance, etc.

Requirements

• 3 years proven mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills required - or any combination of education, training, or maintenance experience.
• A High School Degree required. An Associate's or technical degree preferred.
• Facilities maintenance skills a plus.
• Experience with all mechanical aspects of production equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
• Effective communication skills are needed, with the ability to work well with others, possess the skills necessary to monitor and follow up with procedures, be a self-starter, and be able to prioritize tasks with little supervision.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Able to complete various physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, or bending.

Preferred

• Prior experience with CMMS maintenance ticketing systems.
• Mechanical training.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Maintenance and repair of conveyor systems.
• Experience repairing ink jet printers, embroidery machines, laser engravers.
• Able to read and follow blue-prints and schematics.
• OSHA certifications or other formal safety training related to the manufacturing industry.

• The position involves working around machinery with moving parts.
• The position may require alternating shifts, depending on volume.
• The position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
• The position requires movement of items from machinery to other locations.
• The position requires regular handling of materials, packaging, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending.
• Frequent sustained walking and/or standing for prolonged periods of time.
