Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician supports production by installing, repairing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing unscheduled repairs, completing shift work orders, conducting root cause analysis, and collaborating with management and engineering.

Job Duties

  • Ensure continuous production by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Accurately document and record work orders and logs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with operators and management to improve processes and procedures.
  • Attend daily meetings and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility on the production floor.
  • Frequent exposure to wet, dusty, humid, hot, and cold conditions.
  • Surrounded by mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
  • Physical demands: lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for up to 8 hours, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, seeing, talking, and hearing.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours with breaks, walk, use hands, reach, bend, twist, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see, talk, and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
  • Basic mathematics skills and reading/writing ability.
  • Basic computer skills and experience.
  • Prior manufacturing/industrial experience, with preference for food/bakery experience.
  • One year of maintenance/mechanic experience with processing/packaging equipment.
  • Electrical and electrical motor experience preferred.
  • Available to work night shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  • Able to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Able to follow all food safety and safety procedures and rules, including wearing PPE and LOTO requirements.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of the team.
  • Able to perform duties accurately with attention to detail, follow direction, and participate as a team player.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay & Schedule

Starting wage: $26.73+ per hour (depending on experience).

Schedule

1st Shift: 6am - 6pm on a 2-2-3 schedule (M-Sun).
