Maintenance Tech/Stationary Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and adjust steam power plant and electro-mechanical building equipment.
• Operate, maintain and adjust boilers, furnaces engines, pumps, heat exchangers, generators, motors, chillers, cooling towers, including equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and associated equipment in public buildings, municipal pumping stations and incinerators.
• Make periodic inspections of equipment and minor repairs to such equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Prepare requisitions for materials and spare parts.
• Read meters, gauges, and other recording devices and log the data.
• Keep records and write reports.
• As directed, operate control consoles in control rooms.
• Respond to building emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
• Be on call for emergency duty when assigned.
• Know emergency telephone numbers (e.g., police, fire department, Chief Facility Engineer, Facility Manager).
• Follow all company emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Must be able to work flexible hours and respond to building related emergencies when the need arises.
• Company cell phone will be provided to successful applicant.
• Must have a valid NY driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
