About the Role

A senior member of the maintenance team with extensive knowledge and experience in a variety of systems and equipment. In addition to performing advanced maintenance and repair tasks, you will take a leadership role in coordinating and prioritizing maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all essential functions of a Maintenance Technician I and II
  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in maintenance and repair tasks
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and procedures
  • Conduct in-depth inspections and root-cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Oversee installation, calibration, and maintenance of control systems
  • Use specialized diagnostic tools and software to diagnose and rectify problems
  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair programmable logic controllers (PLC)
  • Perform electrical wiring from low voltage through 480-volt 3-phase industrial systems
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior maintenance technicians
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging maintenance technologies
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and needs
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas, machines, and equipment
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors on matters of importance
  • Adhere to company values, practices, policies, and procedures
  • Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location
  • Perform other duties as requested

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret complex technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic to resolve practical problems
  • PC proficiency, including spreadsheets and reporting software
  • Ability to wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to understand written instructions and complete documentation
  • Logical approach to troubleshooting and prioritizing production needs
  • Strong problem-recognition and solution-oriented mindset
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, mechanical maintenance) or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Journeyman electrical license is a plus
  • Extensive experience in maintenance and repair of complex machinery and systems
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced maintenance techniques, including predictive and condition-based maintenance
  • Proficiency in using specialized diagnostic and repair tools
  • Experience managing maintenance projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource coordination
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise and train junior technicians
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement solutions

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional climbing of stairs to retrieve stock items
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Repetitive grasping with hands
  • Walking and/or standing up to 10–12 hours per day, 6 days per week if applicable
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and reaching following recommended standards

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant environment with potential exposure to:
    • High, precarious, and confined spaces
    • Outdoor weather conditions
    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Extreme heat
    • Loud noise levels
    • Toxic or caustic chemicals
