Maintenance Tech II - 2nd Shift
About the role
The qualified individual will perform daily activities of the maintenance staff. Be engaged in repairs and maintenance of all material handling equipment and facilities to meet operational/facility needs. This position may require shift flexibility. The successful candidate must be able to work any assigned shift.
Responsibilities
- Participate in maintenance activities including minor low voltage electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, repair of MHE/conveyors.
- Analyze defects and failures in the above-referenced areas ensuring resolution with minimal disruption to daily operation of material handling systems and facility needs.
- Communicate closely with operations staff on problems associated with material handling equipment and building facility needs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on material handling and facilities equipment per provided schedule.
- Examine equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggest improvement.
- Participate in team building at all levels within the distribution environment.
- Be familiar with and practice safe work practices to prevent accidents.
- Assume additional duties and responsibilities as required to meet the established goals of the facility.
Requirements
- 2-3 years previous maintenance experience preferred.
- Hands-on electrical and material handling, conveyor control and maintenance experience (trade school or two-year degree a plus).
- Knowledge of high-speed sortation and complex integrated MHE systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide effective operations support without significant Supervisor oversight.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- PC knowledge, including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Be familiar with general lockout/tag out procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Experience with material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of high-speed sortation systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
