Maintenance Tech I

About the Role

Maintenance Technicians perform a variety of tasks at Wabash that vary by location. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, regardless of weather conditions, and requires regular lifting of 50-70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Use SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) software
• Operate and maintain all types of hand tools
• Electrical work (110v, 220v, 480v single and 3-phase)
• Plumbing (drain and supply systems)
• Concrete work (grading, forming, pouring, finishing)
• Carpentry (framing to finish)
• Drywall (hanging, mudding, finishing)
• Hydraulics maintenance
• Snow removal in winter months, including operating a pickup with a snowplow

Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Basic reading, writing, and verbal skills
• Aptitude for using hand tools and proper tool care
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (indoors/outdoors, extreme temperatures, loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts)
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, and handle tools or controls for the entirety of the shift
• Full range of motion in arms and hands, with strong hand-eye coordination
• Frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds
• Work in small spaces and communicate effectively with team members
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus

Training

Wabash provides training for all maintenance positions. Upon receiving an offer, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training to prepare for the role.
