Maintenance Tech I - 1st Shift
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I has a versatile skillset that requires covering multiple responsibilities. This position works around and on rotating equipment and facilities with high pressure to perform routine maintenance. It's an entry-level role that will receive additional on-the-job training. Key responsibilities include maintaining and repairing production machines, cleaning and washing equipment, troubleshooting production issues, changing small valves and threaded piping, and maintaining plants and facilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair multiple production machines.
- Routinely clean and wash equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues with production equipment.
- Change small valves and threaded piping.
- Maintain plants and facility locations/roads.
- Maintain backhoes and trailers as needed.
- Maintain and clean crew tools.
- Work safely and productively.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required with short notice.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 1-year hands-on experience in mechanical operations of manufacturing equipment.
- Goal-driven/forward-thinking.
- Able to learn and retain task knowledge.
- A steady work history and strong work ethic.
- Preferred: Heavy equipment experience a plus.
- Competency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a tobacco primary manufacturing facility. Exposure to high temperatures, loud noises, and industrial equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
