About the role

The Maintenance Technician position involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various hotel systems and equipment. Responsibilities include recognizing and correcting safety hazards, completing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other maintenance tasks, and working collaboratively with the Chief Engineer and Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize, report, and correct potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile floor maintenance and repairs
  • Complete painting, minor roof repairs, and other exterior projects
  • Complete pool and exercise room equipment repairs if necessary
  • Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs
  • Prepare all necessary reports during each shift for the management team
  • Report to Hotel in bad weather conditions for maintenance of Hotel's exterior (snow shoveling, ice melting, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Able to work well in stressful situations
  • Able to complete work orders on a timely basis
  • Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
  • Willingness to respond to emergency situations on short notice
  • Responsible for knowing Hotel emergency procedures

Skills

Physical demands include standing, sitting, or walking for an extended period, lifting up to 10 pounds and frequently lifting up to 25 pounds. Scheduling is variable based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors.
