About the role

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for the inspection, repairs, and maintenance of a variety of hotel systems and equipment. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure all health and safety guidelines are observed, maintaining the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize, report, and correct potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile floor maintenance and repairs
  • Complete painting, minor roof repairs, and other exterior projects
  • Complete pool and exercise room equipment repairs if necessary
  • Participate in ongoing preventative maintenance programs
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
  • Work with the Chief Engineer and Management team to identify and accomplish all technical and skilled-related projects
  • Prepare all necessary reports during each shift for the management team
  • Report to the hotel during bad weather conditions for maintenance of the hotel's exterior (snow shoveling, ice melting, etc.)

  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations
  • Ability to complete work orders on a timely basis
  • Available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations on short notice
  • Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
