About the role
As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for the inspection, repairs, and maintenance of a variety of hotel systems and equipment. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure all health and safety guidelines are observed, maintaining the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Responsibilities
- Recognize, report, and correct potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile floor maintenance and repairs
- Complete painting, minor roof repairs, and other exterior projects
- Complete pool and exercise room equipment repairs if necessary
- Participate in ongoing preventative maintenance programs
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Work with the Chief Engineer and Management team to identify and accomplish all technical and skilled-related projects
- Prepare all necessary reports during each shift for the management team
- Report to the hotel during bad weather conditions for maintenance of the hotel's exterior (snow shoveling, ice melting, etc.)
Requirements
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Ability to complete work orders on a timely basis
- Available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
- Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations on short notice
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures
