About the role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Vernon County, WI, supporting an industry-leading, farmer-owned organic dairy processor. This is a hands-on, multi-craft maintenance position operating within a highly automated, modern facility. The role focuses on ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of production, automated packaging, and utility systems. Ideal for a mechanically and electrically skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on automated production line machinery, robotics, packaging lines, conveyors, pumps, separators, and pasteurization systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and perform minor programming or adjustments on PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and sanitary process controls.
- Read and interpret mechanical schematics, electrical single-line drawings, and P&IDs.
- Assist with utility maintenance, including boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and wastewater management.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, preventive maintenance, and plant safety protocols.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (food/beverage/dairy preferred).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, and automated packaging equipment.
- Experience maintaining pumps, conveyors, separators, and pasteurizers.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, calibration, and sanitary process systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and electrical drawings.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and wastewater systems a plus.
- Safety-conscious mindset with the ability to work independently in an automated plant environment.

Pay
$26.00 - $33.00/hr base rate, plus competitive shift premiums.
