Maintenance Tech 2nd Shift

About the Role

Our Maintenance Technicians are skilled multi-craft professionals crucial to the safe and effective operations of our facility. They maintain and repair machinery involved in turning recycled paper into corrugated boxes for major brands like Domino’s, Home Depot, Amazon, and Hello Fresh.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair machinery used in corrugated box production
• Troubleshoot 3-phase power/electricity systems
• Work with AC/DC motors, motor starters, gearboxes, and gear reducers
• Utilize basic knowledge of PLCs and VFDs
• Service hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Requirements

• Troubleshooting of 3-phase electrical systems
• Experience with AC/DC motors and motor starters
• Knowledge of gearboxes and gear reducers
• Basic working knowledge of PLCs and VFDs
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and apply high school math concepts
• Ability to follow written, oral, or graphic instructions
• Must possess required hand tools (see tool list below)

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical instrumentation experience
• Ability to troubleshoot logic controllers/VFDs online
• Boiler/steam system experience
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Conduit bending experience
• Machining skills (lathe, mill, press, etc.)
• Industrial safety knowledge

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Frequently use hands to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally required to sit
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Screwdrivers – Phillips and slotted (8-10 piece set)
• Precision screwdriver set (small Phillips and slotted for electronics)
• Hex key sets (Allen wrenches) – metric and standard
• Box end wrench sets – metric and standard (quality ratcheting recommended)
• Socket sets – ¼", 3/8", ½" drive, metric and standard sockets, extensions, hex head sockets, deep-well sockets
• Adjustable wrench set (Channellock brand recommended)
• Hammers – 12oz ball peen, 3lb sledge
• Pry bar set – 12" and 18" heavy duty
• Locking pliers set – straight jaw and curved jaw (Vise Grips)
• Needle nose pliers
• Tongue and groove pliers set (Channel Locks)
• Diagonal cutters
• Wire strippers
• Crimping pliers
• Punch and chisel set (taper punches, pin punches, cold chisels)
• Metal file set (flat, round, half-round, triangle)
