Responsibilities
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as repairing structural damage, window, door, or wall repairs.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore water fixture functionality.
- Maintaining electrical wiring to address shortages, severed wires, and other issues.
- Ensuring HVAC equipment operates correctly to maintain climate control within the facility.
- Implementing preventative measures like applying sealants to flat roofs to reduce future problems.
- Addressing potential safety hazards to prevent injuries.
- Handling painting tasks to refresh the building’s appearance.
- Managing plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and drainage problems.
- Using electrical wiring skills to resolve building electricity-related problems.
- Performing basic carpentry work to address various repairs around the building.
- Assisting with groundskeeping tasks if the facility includes lawns or outdoor areas.
- Communicating with employees or residents in a positive manner.
- Ensuring attention to detail in all tasks to avoid overlooking potential hazards or warning signs of problems.
- Providing physical stamina for a full shift of active work on the building.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Certifications are preferred but not required, as they can demonstrate an applicant’s ability to handle the job effectively.
- Preferred certifications include those in plumbing, carpentry, or electrical work, which can indicate additional value to the role.
