Maintenance Supervisor | Open Availability Required
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the hotel maintenance team in daily operations and assigned projects.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hotel equipment, facilities, and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Perform and oversee preventative maintenance procedures for all hotel equipment and systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Replace air-conditioner filters and maintain heating, cooling, and boiler systems to ensure guest comfort.
- Notify management of major repair needs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Maintain records of equipment, maintenance activities, repairs, and completed rooms.
- Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets are properly maintained and accessible.
- Program phone equipment according to hotel operational needs.
- Train and develop maintenance team members in a variety of maintenance functions and safety procedures.
- Maintain the appearance of the hotel interior and exterior, including painting and staining walls, trim, and doors.
- Repair wallpaper, carpet, sheetrock, doors, and other property finishes as needed.
- Maintain inventory and par levels of regularly used parts, finishing supplies, and maintenance materials.
- Inspect and repair minor issues in common areas and report major concerns to hotel leadership.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment, proper handling of chemicals, and compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.
- Report to work on time, in uniform, and in accordance with company standards.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment
The oceanfront hotel is located directly on the boardwalk, next to Neptune Park. The position involves working various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This role supervises maintenance staff, coordinates preventative maintenance programs, troubleshoots and repairs hotel equipment and systems, and helps maintain the overall appearance and condition of the property. Areas of responsibility include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, boilers, guest room maintenance, and common area upkeep. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, safety-focused, and committed to delivering a high-quality guest experience while supporting the hotel's operational goals and budget.
