Job Summary
Deliver company business objectives in Safety, Quality and Productivity. Support ongoing Continuous Improvement activities and lead their cross functional teams of hourly personnel consisting of Maintenance and Operations associates as required.
Essential Functions
- Ability to lead over 25 personnel in their job assignments in all areas of manufacturing maintenance within the Operation.
- Accountability for safe repair and operability of major plant equipment assets.
- Demonstrated ability to coach/teach/mentor, provide feedback/constructive criticism and performance manage personnel.
- Identify development opportunities and implement plans improve employee knowledge and skill sets.
- Sustain a clean and safe working environment and maintain compliance with established company and customer policies and procedures.
- Champion company safety and quality culture, as well as actively participate and contribute to Continuous Improvement programs and initiatives.
- Achieve production plan and production targets by ensuring operational readiness of all manufacturing assets.
- Follow the facility maintenance plans and promptly respond to any equipment unplanned stoppages as they arise.
- Understand, communicate, and execute maintenance and production priorities.
- Ensure accurate results and information is reported on shift production summaries.
- Ensure all appropriate maintenance activities are documented in main server.
- Complete all necessary personnel documentation and reports (including time & attendance) and conduct effective performance reviews.
- Provide plant housekeeping support.
- Participate in SQF Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs.
Required Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, additional technical training on industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum 10 years total maintenance experience in high volume manufacturing.
- Preferred: Demonstrated hands-on experience with manufacturing machinery/automation and computer-based software (CMMS, attendance tracking, inventory control and Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel).
- Experience with cup/plate forming equipment, packaging automation and printing equipment desired.
- Self-motivated, works with a sense of urgency and purpose, able to multi-task and function independently, be well-organized and detail oriented.
- Resourceful and able to develop and communicate maintenance action plans and research source materials and technical resources as necessary to execute those plans.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally & written, with all levels of employees.
- Experience in process/continuous improvement programs preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to change and support/lead maintenance projects.
Environment
- Candidate will work in a manufacturing environment.
- Individual will work a defined 40-hour work week supporting the two day or night shifts (depending on shift assignment), including shift overlap and weekend support as appropriate to meet production, quality, and safety objectives.
- Requires prolonged standing (60%), moderate walking (30%) with occasional sitting (10%).
- Requires near/far acuity and color vision.
- Must adhere to plant PPE requirements.
- Incumbent must be able to commit to travel to other Huhtamaki facilities and seminars, as dictated by business needs, by both ground and air transportation.
