Responsibilities
- Achieve Maintenance goals with the highest regard for employee safety
- Support troubleshooting and observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met
- Manage department costs aggressively to assure optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop and educate key metrics
- Maintenance planning, including non-emergency maintenance and coordinating PM routes
- Effectively communicate goals and/or instructions
- Manage conflicts
- Supervise Maintenance and Cleanup personnel on varying schedules
- Manage contractor safety through active leadership
- Maintain sawmill equipment (including but not limited to De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems)
- Ensure safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, assisting with and verifying Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Safety Audits)
- Arrange WF Training for and mentor apprentices
- Create and plan improvement projects
- Manage parts with the purchaser
- Oversee scheduling and attendance
- Periodic weekend coverage
- Inspect completed work

Requirements
- Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Well organized
- Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience
- Leadership and communication skills
- Two or Four-year degree preferred
- Prior Supervisory experience preferred
- Lumber industry experience preferred
