Maintenance Supervisor (Day Shift)

About the role
The Day Shift Supervisor partners directly with the Plant Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure adherence to procedures, and maintain smooth pan processing. This hands-on leadership position requires both technical troubleshooting and team accountability.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and break/fix tasks on hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and 480-volt wiring
- Oversee timely processing of pans throughout all production stages
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager on shift scheduling and staffing
- Maintain clear written and verbal communication with management
- Hold employees accountable for following procedures and safety protocols
- Schedule trucking and shift start times in the Plant Manager’s absence
- Complete work orders and prepare die molds for upcoming production runs
- Test and adjust glaze material specific gravity as needed
- Take a hands-on approach with employees and perform mechanical repairs when possible
- Maintain plant housekeeping inside and outside the facility
- Inspect the first glazed pan of each run for proper coverage and make adjustments
- Verify correct truck loading and accurate pan counts
- Monitor quality throughout the entire production process
- Ensure all employees wear proper PPE at all times
- Perform and document required safety checks
- Report quality issues and unsafe conditions immediately; correct problems when possible
- Understand all job descriptions, operations, and potential hazards in the plant
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS, operating/maintenance instructions, company handbook, and procedure manuals
- Physical ability to: stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods; use hands to handle tools and controls; reach with arms; lift/move 75+ pounds; push/pull; bend/twist at waist; bend elbows; lift from floor; turn head
- Required PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, plant-approved gloves, long pants, short/long-sleeved shirts (no tank tops or sleeveless shirts)
- Additional PPE for specific tasks: face shield (when pouring die molds) and aluminized jacket (to protect upper body from hot tin)
- Must work weekends; scheduled days off are Tuesday/Wednesday but not guaranteed
Pay
$70,000–$80,000 yearly salary plus bonuses

Day shift: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
