About the role
The Domain Companies is a national real estate development and investment firm dedicated to making a positive impact on communities through various projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with team members, residents, vendors, community leaders, financial partners, and city agencies.
- Identify and seek out opportunities to add value to the property, the resident, and team member experience.
- Lead and develop direct reports, ensuring they feel supported, aligned, and engaged in their role and connected to the greater team and Company.
- Complete and oversee building/unit repairs, upgrades, janitorial work, and construction as needed.
- Perform monthly building, sprinkler, boiler, and preventative maintenance inspections.
- Train team in proper cleaning and repair procedures as needed.
- Develop and implement an inventory control system for the maintenance department.
- Prepare supply and purchase orders.
- Distribute, assign, collect, and track work orders from initiation to completion.
- Create an environment that promotes and demonstrates the importance of safety.
- Act quickly to identify and correct hazardous conditions to mitigate the company's liability risk and protect our team members/residents.
- Perform 24-hour on-call emergency repairs such as leaks, clogged drains, lockouts, no heat/hot water, etc.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- HVAC certified with Type III license (preferred).
- Experienced in all aspects of residential building maintenance with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive maintenance.
- Expertise in plumbing with working knowledge of electrical, carpentry, flooring/tiles, painting, and appliance repair.
- Experience leading and developing a maintenance team is required.
- Must be experienced in MS Office products such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Technically savvy with the ability to learn our property management software (Yardi Voyager and Building Link experience preferred).
- Customer centric with a warm demeaner, positive attitude, and impeccable follow through.
- Able to work independently and with a team.
- Able to plan and prioritize efficiently and motivate/lead team members.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and complete multiple tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the city; knowledge of the local transportation options to include public and private transportation options.
Physical Demands
- Regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
- Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- May involve moving or lifting items at or under 75 pounds.
Work Hour Requirements
- Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am to 5pm).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on company needs.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
