Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in the facility in accordance with Company standards, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all employees understand their OSHA rights.
  • Conduct safety training topics as required or needed.
  • Schedule employees to attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
  • Promptly investigate all accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
  • Direct facility maintenance organization to achieve uninterrupted operation of the facility and maintain the facility and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Plan, schedule, direct, and oversee maintenance labor to ensure timely and workmanlike completion of all work, adherence to established procedures, and accurate reporting.
  • Verify that all Maintenance Work Order Forms are completed properly, accounted for, and routed according to procedures.
  • Distribute the maintenance workforce to best assure uninterrupted facility operation, considering hours of work and areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinate maintenance operations with Facilities Engineering and Plant Production management.
  • Ensure timely completion of all maintenance work, with emphasis on the planned preventive maintenance program.
  • Establish and regularly review preventive maintenance procedures for all equipment in cooperation with the Facilities Engineering Department.
  • Audit maintenance workforce performance through personal inspections to ensure high-quality work.
  • Recommend repairs, modifications, or replacements of facility equipment based on machine histories and maintenance manning levels to optimize efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain maintenance stores inventory at the minimum level required for uninterrupted facility operation.
  • Provide necessary tools, instruments, manuals, drawings, and procedures for efficient maintenance workforce utilization.
  • Actively participate in the Quality Improvement Process and conduct regularly scheduled employee involvement and training meetings.
  • Promote safety throughout the workplace.
  • Publish a detailed monthly report concerning maintenance activity and expenditures.
  • Prepare an annual Maintenance Department operating budget projection.
  • Maintain all areas under control in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date overtime records.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate (College Preferred).
  • Two years’ experience in Manufacturing operations.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or other shifts if required.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Good performance and attendance record.
  • Physically and mentally capable of handling exerting and/or stressful situations.
  • Able to conduct and participate in meetings.
