Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
Timber Products Company in Medford, OR is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for its Particleboard mill. The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Company in meeting its production goals by overseeing the mill’s equipment maintenance activities; ensuring minimal downtime for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Major Tasks
Oversees all equipment maintenance and repair activities for the Medford Particleboard mill.
Makes frequent decisions regarding maintenance schedules, priority of equipment repairs, overtime, and staffing needs.
Works with employees to ensure minimal equipment downtime for maintenance and repair.
Affords assistance in resolving technical equipment repair problems, and may perform maintenance tasks as needed.
Leads the training and development of salaried and hourly Maintenance staff for maximum effectiveness.
Orders parts, equipment and tools, and contracts with outside services as necessary.
Works with the Maintenance Planner to ensure the preventative maintenance program is meeting the needs of the mill.
Ensures critical parts lists are established and maintained in CMMS with locations.
Works with Electrical Supervisor to assist in planning of electrical repairs and upgrades in an efficient manner.
Assists with environmental affairs including meeting air and water quality standards, testing and meeting permit requirements.
Supports and enforces company policies and procedures.
Performs all supervisory responsibilities associated with the assigned staff.
Skill Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience, preferably in wood products or other manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and practical experience managing industrial systems preferred.
Must be able to communicate well with all levels of personnel, management and contractors.
Requires the ability to read blue prints and design equipment.
Must have computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn and use company specific software.
