Maintenance Supervisor

Description

The Maintenance Supervisor at Smurfit Westrock will oversee maintenance operations to maximize plant and production equipment uptime. Key responsibilities include:

• Assist and provide direction to craftsmen in troubleshooting equipment to mitigate downtime.
• Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budget.
• Ensure compliance and proper use of parts and equipment according to preferred maintenance practices.
• Oversee craftsmen's compliance with corporate, division, plant safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Lead development and implementation of continuous process improvement of reliability plans in the plant.
• Lead safety efforts by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating maintenance related safety activities.
• Provide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees.
• Collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule, and execute daily and break-in work and to increase measured reliability metrics.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

• A 2-year technical degree in a Maintenance related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years of maintenance supervisory leadership experience within the packaging industry.
• At least 3 years of Mechanical or Electrical maintenance experience.
• A working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, and gear boxes.
• A safety mindset with a thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures.
• An initiative to solve problems and take independent action.
• A great communication skill set to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization.
• An ability to exhibit a 'can-do' approach and inspire others to excel.
• An organized nature with strong time management to manage multiple priorities.
