Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

OxyChem is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its Chemical Manufacturing Facility in Wichita, Kansas. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring plant operations, employee safety, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and communities.
• Set priorities on maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure plant operations.
• Cook up with Production, Technical, and other Maintenance groups to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Assign jobs and provide field supervision to maintenance technicians, adhering to the Maintenance Excellence Program.
• Lead and coach maintenance technicians to ensure all work is performed according to job plans.
• Manage backlog of work orders to maintain plant reliability.
• Track equipment repair progress to ensure plant reliability and capability meets production schedules.
• Participate in the design and implementation of equipment and process improvements, material of construction improvements, and cost control improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with five plus years of practical maintenance or production experience in a manufacturing environment.
• A good working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and safeguards in maintenance and construction.
• Prior experience leading maintenance teams is preferred.
• High proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good working knowledge of SAP.
• Ability to respond to off-hour emergencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs.
• Walking, bending, stooping is required.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including a respirator.
• Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
