Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all company policies are carried out.
- Leads and assists in accident investigations and completes accident reports within 24 hours of the occurrence.
- Plans, assigns, and directs maintenance activities.
- Utilizes effective communication with all associates.
- Led and facilitated corrective action and continuous improvement teams.
- Schedules, motivates, and maintains employee morale.
- Completes annual performance reviews and coaches associates as necessary.
- Conducts shift meetings to discuss objectives and relay important information.
- Ensures the safe and efficient operation of the Maintenance department and all maintenance personnel.
- Makes daily or as needed reviews with other supervisors and management staff regarding production and skilled trades departments.
- Attends all required meetings, training, and other activities as specified by management.
- Trains associates and builds their skill levels in the Maintenance department.
- Maintains equipment trends to ensure optimal operation and reduce downtime.
- Supports the skilled trades department and production floor as required.
- Daily approves employee timecards and accurately completes attendance paperwork.
- Duties and responsibilities may change as deemed by management.
- Step in when Maintenance Manager deems necessary.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of OSHA / Environmental laws and regulations for Indiana.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proven experience with electrical, hydraulics, PLCs, metal fabrication, and industrial equipment required – robotics and automation is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to determine root causes of accidents and implement corrective actions.
- Proven ability to communicate and present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet, and Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Detail-oriented and excellent follow-through skills.
- Ability to work as a member or a team and as a team leader.
- Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
Education and Experience
- Technical certificate, associate degree, skilled trade with two years’ experience, skilled trades with two years supervisory/leadership experience, or four years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Bachelor’s/Associates degree in Business Management, Operations, Industrial Leadership a plus.
