Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

This is a hands-on 1st shift Maintenance Supervisor position responsible for overseeing repairs, installations, and upkeep of equipment and facilities. The role involves supervising a maintenance crew of up to ten people, coordinating their efforts, and stepping in to assist with troubleshooting and repairs as needed. Work is primarily Monday through Friday, with possible Saturday work as required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, follow up, and coordinate all maintenance work.
• Directly involved in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and machinery.
• Train subordinates as needed.
• Deal directly with major vendors and purchase needed parts (excluding those ordered by the maintenance purchasing agent).
• Make recommendations for process improvements and justify machinery purchases.
• Supervise a crew of up to ten maintenance personnel, including handling performance evaluations, disciplinary matters, and related personnel needs.
• Complete specific projects and assignments as required by upper management.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and background with equipment and machinery, preferably in the food manufacturing and processing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance, facilities, and parts/tools.
• Ability to succeed in an agile work environment with cross-functional teams.
• Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills, working with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for the entire shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment with moderate to high noise volume.
• Must be able to handle constant exposure to variable temperatures in the factory.
