Responsibilities
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules, prioritize work orders, and allocate resources efficiently to reduce down time.
- Lead troubleshooting and repairs, supporting technicians during critical failures.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, including LOTO and PPE compliance.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and internal audit requirements.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement automation or system improvements.
- Prepare reports for internal reviews and external inspections, supporting food safety and operational standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationship to ensure availability of critical components.
- Track maintenance costs, evaluate repair vs. replacement strategies and optimize budget allocation.
- Collaborate with production, QA and engineering teams on process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Support new product launches, process changes, and reliability projects to increase operational efficiency.
- Drive a proactive maintenance culture by recommending system enhancements and innovative solutions.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate maintenance technicians, assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to strengthen team skills and knowledge.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning across the maintenance team.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required with 5+ years of experience.
- A Technical school certification or degree with 7+ years of experience preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work both the Verona and Sarcoxie sites as needed.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Time management skills.
- Basic project management skills.
- Advanced Technical skills, including machine repair, piping, machine rigging, HVAC, etc.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and markup blueprints.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
- Must be knowledgeable with PLC I/O, Lockout-Tagout, Confined Space, Hot-Work Procedures, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Knowledge of and experience in continuous improvement strategies and project management.
