About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, facilities, utilities, and support systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all plant maintenance activities including preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment, facility systems, and utilities.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Manage maintenance work orders and equipment records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of maintenance spare parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets and expenses.
  • Lead facility improvement projects, equipment installations, machine relocations, and capital projects.
  • Coordinate outside contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams on process improvements and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support root cause analysis, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Establish maintenance KPIs including equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, and preventive maintenance completion rates.

Qualifications

5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Experience supporting CNC machining equipment, automated manufacturing systems, and facility infrastructure. Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and employee development skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, controls, motors, drives, and CNC equipment.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and in varying environmental conditions. Availability to respond to equipment emergencies outside normal working hours when required.
