About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor leads efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment. This role requires a personal dedication to safety and proactive support of a culture of safety excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a crew of Journey-level Mechanical and/or Electrical-Instrumentation (EI) employees.
- Identify and implement improvements in process and equipment reliability by collaborating with operations and maintenance personnel.
- Provide technical assistance and reliability leadership/support.
- Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities.
- Review work requests, initiate and support work planning activity, and oversee work order flow to completion.
Requirements
- Technical/trade school diploma with emphasis in mechanical technology and a minimum of two (2) years of maintenance supervision experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and one (1) year of maintenance supervision experience.
- Personal dedication to safety and proactive support of a culture of safety excellence.
- Safety and team-oriented with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to lead a crew of mechanics.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance practices and predictive maintenance tools, including vibration analysis, thermography, lube analysis, ultrasonic analysis, and failure analysis techniques.
- Strong equipment and system troubleshooting aptitude.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for technical activities across all organizational levels.
- Able to perform physical tasks such as frequent walking, climbing ladders and stairs, crawling into confined spaces, and lifting/carrying objects of varying weights.
- Exposure to industrial environments, including dust, heat, dirt, grease, chemicals, noise, and various weather conditions.
- Use of PPE and respiratory protection is required.
- Ability and willingness to support the demands of a 24/7 operation.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Technical/trade school diploma with emphasis in mechanical technology and a minimum of five (5) years of maintenance supervision experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and two (2) years of maintenance supervision experience.
- Experience with SAP Enterprise system, including Plant Maintenance management processes.
- Vibration Analysis – ISO Category I Certification.
- Lubrication Engineer/Analyst training.
- Reliability-centered maintenance training.
- Pulp and Paper industry experience.
- Strong presentation skills to resolve issues with diverse groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
