About the role

Directs maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment used throughout the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse equipment. Oversees maintenance of processes to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flows and production lines running at maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leads teams of Maintenance Mechanics in predictive and preventive maintenance and machine repair.
  • Develops, implements, and supervises maintenance systems, processes, and documentation for efficient and high-performing manufacturing (Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOPs, Safety, etc.).
  • Schedules maintenance in a timely manner and collaborates with Production to accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
  • Develops and maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking maintenance performance (supplier performance, 3rd party contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.).
  • Provides long-term solutions and day-to-day support for troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failures.
  • Trains employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
  • Ensures tasks comply with FDA regulations.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance work and inventory.
  • Provides regular status reports to the maintenance management team.
  • In the absence of key personnel, completes or delegates required tasks and responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibility

Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of maintenance or process/project engineering experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills and database knowledge.
  • Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision-making, empowerment, and delegation).
  • Able to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts for high-level process issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and previous leadership experience.
  • Advanced technical skills in HVAC, high and low-pressure boiler systems, compressed air, mechanical and electrical fields (e.g., schematics, PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering), and dust collection systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory, and scheduling software.
  • Able to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment.

Pay

Salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 annually with a target bonus.
