About the role
As a 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekeman Industries, you will oversee the maintenance team and ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Oversee and participate in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant machinery, including mills, welders, cutting systems, and material handling equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment longevity.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance, ensuring OSHA and Company policies are followed.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production disruptions, coordinating emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support seamless operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel manufacturing or heavy industry.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience leading a maintenance team.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; welding and fabrication experience a plus.
- Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and industrial safety best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
- Experience: 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel manufacturing or heavy industry; 2+ years of supervisory experience leading a maintenance team.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; welding and fabrication experience a plus; proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions; familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office; strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and industrial safety best practices.
