About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, as well as maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Examine equipment, systems, or facilities to determine needed repairs, services, or installations.
  • Review job orders to determine work priorities.
  • Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Coordinate activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Review new product plans and discuss equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Direct training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Collaborate daily with other supervisors, managers, and staff members to formulate and implement policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in and support plant continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete required training programs and perform designated work activities in accordance with Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • 2 years in a leadership role in manufacturing maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Prior work with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as Infor EAM.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • VFD programming experience.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to:

  • Wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
  • Outside weather conditions.
  • High, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • Loud noise levels.

Work Ability Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear (both in person and by telephone).
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • May occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
