Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Our Maintenance Ops Supervisor plays an integral role in ensuring machines and overall plant run at peak performance and optimum capacity. This role manages day-to-day department operations and supports the broader operations team in achieving plant goals for Safety, Quality, and Deliverables through leadership of Maintenance Mechanics and Operations Lines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean work environment to comply with expected standards.
  • Motivate, lead, teach, and train Maintenance and Operations staff.
  • Observe operations to detect machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and perform adjustments or repairs as required.
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations and staff.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC and Ladder Logic.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to maintenance processes.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance performance metrics.
  • Follow all company safety rules, policies, procedures, and GMPs.
  • Ensure compliance with all business-related policies and procedures.
  • Ensure machines operate within PetIQ’s quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Assist in machine setup during job changeovers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Maintenance Supervisor in a high-paced manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLC, and Ladder Logic.
  • Preferred knowledge of Thermoform Molding machines.
  • Math and reading comprehension skills; ability to read, speak, and comprehend instructions in English (or the language of the country as applicable), including procedure documents, and proofread alpha and numeric data.
  • Ability to follow standard work and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must meet all locally defined training requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as a member of a work team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds (4 kilograms) continuously and up to 50 pounds (22 kilograms) frequently.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stepladders.
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 400 pounds (181 kilograms) using a manual cart.
  • Must be able to stoop, squat, and bend.
  • Must be able to frequently reach laterally and occasionally overhead.
  • Must be able to grasp objects.
  • Must possess sufficient visual and audio acuity to work safely and accurately in an industrial environment.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including extended shifts and weekends.
