Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift
About the role
The Maintenance Supervisor is a highly visible leadership role responsible for directing a team of Maintenance Technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all facility equipment and infrastructure. This position develops and executes strategies to reduce mechanical downtime, improve equipment reliability, and ensure continuous production flow. The Maintenance Supervisor assists in developing and managing capital, repair and maintenance (R&M), and departmental labor budgets. Additionally, the role is responsible for implementing maintenance systems aligned with High-Performance Manufacturing principles, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Manage maintenance systems aligned with high-performing manufacturing organizations (Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, TPM, etc.) focused on maximizing plant capacity while minimizing costs.
- Schedule and assign work to optimize task completion and minimize production disruptions.
- Lead initiatives to reduce unscheduled downtime, lower costs, and improve plant efficiency.
- Direct maintenance personnel through effective delegation, training, and follow-up to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Promote safety through consistent enforcement of company and regulatory policies, training, and performance monitoring.
- Provide short- and medium-term technical support for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and equipment failures.
- Affirm efficient daily plant operations with minimal repetitive issues.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing and managing an effective Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program using the CMMS system.
- Regularly review performance metrics and analyze data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure maintenance performance, including equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Develop and implement training plans for maintenance team members and monitor compliance with those plans.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate will have the Following Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced technical skills in mechanical and electrical systems (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, including work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, and TPM.
- Proficiency in CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Proven leadership and resource planning experience in a large manufacturing setting.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated presentation abilities.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekend as needed.
- Must be 18 years or older.
