Primary Responsibilities

  • Directs maintenance personnel to ensure systems operate at highest capability.
  • Provides maintenance training, including the use of maintenance logs and SAP.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hours.
  • Supervises Maintenance staff, including performance management and employee development.
  • Maintains equipment and facilities in safe, operable condition.
  • Affords timely repairs and establishes procedures.
  • Assists in diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipment.
  • Communicates information affecting employees to establish department employee relations.
  • Improves reliability, maintenance, and processing methods.
  • Determines equipment capabilities, safety, and operational condition.
  • Develops preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinates and supervises corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Analyzes production downtime reports and develops action plans.
  • Participates in QRMP yearly audit and assists in procedure development.
  • Oversees QRMP implementation and ensures compliance with safety, health, and environmental systems.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives and leads change initiatives.
  • Aids in preparing requisitions for spare parts inventory.
  • Maintains departmental operating budget.
  • Conducts employee safety training.
  • Enforces safe work practices and corrects unsafe conditions.
  • Promotes quick return to work after workplace accidents.
  • Works flexible schedules including days, afternoons, midnights, and weekends.
  • Lifts up to 50 lbs and motivates/leads others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of related leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining TPM Systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
  • Safety and quality-mindedness, ability to make sound decisions.
  • Understanding of direct and overhead cost systems.
  • Experience using, troubleshooting, and programming Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules.
