About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership capability. This role will be responsible for directing the efforts of the Maintenance department.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a work schedule that includes time for personal contact and communication with all shifts.
- Proficient in the use of PLC (programmable logic controllers), including troubleshooting, programming, and documentation of PLC control programs. Proficiency required with Modicon, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens PLCs.
- Interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits.
- Troubleshoot hard-wired relay logic machine control panels, including field repairs such as replacing existing components and wiring.
- Work with 24, 115, 277, and 480 Bolt 3-phase electrical systems, including electrical distribution systems consisting of bus and switchgear equipment.
- Install additional conduit, both flex and hard, to existing equipment and building systems, including correct bending of hard conduit and pulling wire through the conduit.
- Remove, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic components, including valves, cylinders, pumps, hoists, and motors.
- Use wire and stick welders, as well as cutting torches.
- Operate forklifts up to 30-ton capacity.
- Rig, move, and install equipment within the facility, including lifting heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Learn to use and maintain a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Determine proper pipe sizes, thread pipe, and properly install.
- Bend and install hydraulic tubing properly.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology plus 2 years of verifiable work experience.
- In lieu of formal education, a minimum of 5 years of verifiable work experience plus training seminars in the defined categories will be considered.
- Prior experience with a CMMS is preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime as required on short notice during the week and weekends as scheduled.
- Ability to travel for training, including overnight stays possibly up to a week at a time.
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, including MS-Excel and MS-Word. Experience in MS-Access, MS-Project, and MS-PowerPoint is beneficial.
