The Role
We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor who brings decisiveness, strong decision-making, and expertise to the table. This position is responsible for leading a team of Maintenance Technicians to ensure top equipment performance and long-term reliability of our assets and processes.
Responsibilities
- Reporting team activity and progress through visual management (weak point management, pareto charts, other TPS tools, and graphs).
- Manage general practices for the first shift maintenance team, including lock out/tag out (electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical), 5S condition (process and shop cleanliness and organization), and other potential hazards (proper PPE).
- Cook daily activities and generate/assign work orders and countermeasures to the technicians.
- Coordinate trouble calls for machine downtime to ensure all equipment is repaired with the utmost quality and sense of urgency.
- Downtime prevention activities.
- Work order completion according to targets.
- Achieve target of no work order older than 25 days.
- Cross shift repair coordination.
- Coordinate the transfer of time sensitive repair and improvement work to and from adjacent shifts to prevent the interruption of production operations.
- Human development.
- Aid in the development of each Associate in behavior and skillset.
- Initiate, plan, execute, control, and report the work of a team to achieve improvement goals.
- Promote kaizen activity.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements (safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environment).
- Create a teamwork atmosphere through excellent communication and respect for people.
- Downtime countermeasure effectiveness, check sheet completion, work orders, and project schedules.
- Escalate critical equipment issues or downtime events to ensure adequate resources are assigned.
- Work unscheduled overtime to complete assigned jobs to ensure meeting of production goals.
Requirements
- 2 Year Technical degree required.
- 2 Years of Leadership experience preferred.
- 6 years of previous maintenance experience preferred.
