Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to prevent or minimize production downtime.
- Implement corrective actions for critical equipment issues or prolonged downtime events.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance concerns.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor and communicate regularly with production leads and supervisors.
- Develop team schedules to minimize overtime while ensuring adequate operational support.
- Manage employee call-offs and staffing shortages by coordinating resources across shifts.
- Maintain and communicate updated staffing schedules and workforce adjustments.
- Routinely inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize multiple resources to complete tasks, identify replacement parts, and support maintenance activities.
- Promote effective communication across departments.
- Monitor team performance to ensure quality work, task completion, effective use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and workplace organization.
- Foster a positive work environment through timely and respectful communication with employees.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and termination recommendations, as appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through team engagement, compliance, and execution.
- Lead training activities as needed while documenting completion.
- Lead complex repairs and coordinate with external technical support resources when necessary.
- Collaborate on capital projects, process improvements, equipment upgrades, and operational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and welding disciplines.
- Ability to use electronic equipment and business software applications, including computers, mobile devices, email, and CMMS platforms.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to lead by example and consistently enforce workplace policies and procedures.
- Leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, and managing employees, including performance and disciplinary matters.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, evenings, and off-hours as needed.
