Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
- Practices the principals of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines.
- Maintain the safe and good working condition of all equipment, building, and plant operations.
- Execute, plan, and organize necessary repairs and tasks.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Manage, maintain, and improve the Preventative Maintenance System (PMS).
- Perform preventive maintenance and implement necessary engineering changes to equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace parts; test and make adjustments using a range of skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematic diagrams, and work orders.
- Manage the critical spare parts inventory, predict part needs, and communicate orders/deliveries to minimize downtime.
- Assist with the installation of new and existing equipment.
- Collaborate with external contractors, vendors, suppliers, and machine shops.
- Adhere strictly to all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational school Industrial Maintenance program or have five plus years of industrial maintenance work experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to operate a fork truck.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management and problem solving skills.
- Ability to read, speak and write English efficiently preferred.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to multi-task.
Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)
- Comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
- Comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
- All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
