Maintenance Specialist (Ground & Equipment Readiness Support)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze daily materiel readiness data across the command, identifying maintenance trends, critical part shortages, and systemic failures affecting theater operations.
  • Utilize enterprise military logistics databases to track work orders, manage deferred maintenance items, and validate equipment status configurations.
  • Coincide with life-cycle management commands (LCMCs), defense logistics agencies, and forward-deployed units to prioritize the distribution of critical repair parts and repair assets.
  • Assess and monitor subordinate unit adherence to the Army Command Maintenance Discipline Program (CMDP) and overarching field-level maintenance regulations.
  • Compile data, generate metrics, and design visual tracking boards to deliver executive-level readiness briefings for the G4 staff and senior USARCENT leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field (equivalent military maintenance management experience may be substituted).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of specialized experience managing Army ground maintenance operations (Army 91-series senior NCO, 915A Warrant Officer, or civilian contractor equivalent background). Experience at a Division, Corps, or Theater Army (ASCC) level is highly preferred.
  • Technical Systems: Direct operational proficiency with the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A), the Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW), and the Federal Logistics Data system (FED LOG).
  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret security clearance is required at the time of application.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of Army Regulation 750-1 (Army Materiel Maintenance Policy), DA PAM 750-8 (The Army Maintenance Management System), and standard preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS) protocols.
