About the role

We are seeking a Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all building structures, finishes, and fixtures to ensure compliance with applicable building codes.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to work orders daily, coordinating tasks and timelines with appropriate management.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain and update replacement inventory for building components and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and overall condition of the property and grounds.
  • Interpret and create sketches, blueprints, or pictures to determine dimensions and layout work.
  • Use and maintain a variety of carpenter hand, power, and shop tools.
  • Operate equipment such as pneumatic tools, electronic equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts.
  • Perform general and finish carpentry tasks, including wall coverings, painting, staining, sealing, and texturing.
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands; lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) lbs.
  • Perform special refinishing tasks including surface preparation, sanding, mudding, taping, caulking, staining, sealing, and texturing.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years' experience in building maintenance or occupationally significant combinations of vocational education and/or on-the-job training.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
  • Preferred background in carpentry work.
  • Must be able to secure a license from the Gaming Regulatory Authority and follow all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Qualifications

  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate responses.

Skills

  • Knowledge of pool maintenance and operations (where applicable).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $X - $Y per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
