Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Maintenance Specialist at NARA Northwest will be responsible for establishing and maintaining management systems for all NARA/NW facilities, including physical property, yard, and equipment. They will assist in installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various building and facility equipment fixtures and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of a wide range of building and facility equipment fixtures and systems.
  • Ensure routine and regular maintenance of property and equipment occurs, including painting, carpets, plumbing, and general electrical repairs, window repairs, assembling and maintaining furniture and storage units.
  • Maintain written documentation that such scheduled maintenance and monitoring occurred and complied with any occupancy standards and regulations.
  • Work with the Facilities Director and other staff to safeguard and maintain property and equipment in compliance with federal, state, and county regulations.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance-related written requests.
  • Aid in controlling and managing inventory of supplies and materials such as cleaning supplies and paper products.
  • Assist in preparing semi-annual inventory reports on maintenance equipment and hand tools.
  • Attend facility and department meetings as needed.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of related experience in maintenance or facility management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, and some travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Skills

Proficiency in basic electrical and mechanical systems, as well as knowledge of safety protocols, are required. Basic computer skills and the ability to read blueprints are also necessary.

Pay

The wage range for this position is $23.73 - $30.60 per hour, non-exempt.

Schedule

This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
