Maintenance Site Supervisor - Automation
Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor (AUTOMATION) oversees a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring proper functioning of facilities and equipment through planning, scheduling, and supervising repairs. This role also involves training staff, inspecting facilities, developing maintenance schedules, managing inventory, and responding to maintenance requests.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Train, assign tasks, supervise, and provide performance reviews and corrections to maintenance technicians.
- Designated contact for customers.
- Perform and complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) and repairs.
- Execute daily walkthrough inspections of facility and equipment.
- Provide shift coverage.
- Communicate PTO coverage plans with direct supervisors and/or customers.
- Cookordinate warranty requests.
- Direct outside vendor work (PO process and billing).
- Facilitate all outside scope of work.
- Complete parts ordering and inventory management (5S Inventory Skills).
- Ensure completion of monthly safety training within the required timeframe.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address potential issues.
- Regularly inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
- Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs with internal staff or external contractors.
- Complete all repairs of equipment in a timely manner and by the manufacturer’s repair guidelines.
- Monitor maintenance costs and work within budget constraints.
- Track maintenance activities, generate reports on equipment performance, and maintenance status.
- Timely and accurately complete all work orders and service records within the company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely entry of work hours in timekeeping platform.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Complete all work in a safe manner adhering to company and customer safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Key Performance Measurements
- A score card reflecting performance in areas such as safety, PM completion, Technician efficiency, customer satisfaction, inventory variance, work in progress, shop cleanliness, and 5S inventory skills.
- Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness and ability to learn new skills and information.
- Other key performance indicators as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A technical training certificate, vocational school training, or an associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
- At least 5+ years of experience as a maintenance supervisor or equivalent job role is required.
- A background check and drug screen are necessary.
- The ability to read, comprehend, and apply knowledge of equipment manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, and pneumatic prints is required.
- The ability to motivate and manage a team of maintenance technicians, and competently plan and schedule maintenance tasks is essential.
- The ability to clearly communicate (both written and verbal) and articulate ideas with customers, maintenance team, management, and other departments is required.
- Strong Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) trouble-shooting experience, specifically with SLC 500 or Studio 5000, is preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including 480v, 240v, 24v, and 48v, are required.
- The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical components involving wiring diagrams and schematics, and general abilities in laptop software to identify issues with automation equipment going offline, is necessary.
- The ability to supply own hand tools and to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote locations, is required.
- The ability to be on-call is necessary.
- Up to 20% travel, including overnight travel, is required.
